Weather Data Upsampling

Context:

3E is a company providing consultancy services and software products to improve the performance of sustainable energy systems and optimize energy consumption. Among other things, they make studies to identify the best sites where to install wind turbines. To do so, they must run costy weather simulation with a high spatial resolution.

Project:

Deeper Analytics developped a proof of concept to demonstrate the capabilities of machine learning to up-scale low resolution weather simulation data into much higher spatial resolution datasets. This allows the client to run lower resolution simulation (that are much cheaper) and uses machine learning to turn these low resolution simulation data into high resolution data.
